Insulin is a hormone that promotes cancer, based on recent studies.
In England’s South Manchester the Genesis Prevention Center at University Hospital researchers have discovered that it is better to limit carbohydrates to two days a week instead of counting calories in order to prevent breast cancer and other types of illnesses. But they also say that more research is required.

Michelle Harvie, Ph.D., SRD said that loss of weight and decreased insulin levels are needed to prevent breast cancer. However these reduced levels are hard to reach and keep with standard dietary methods. She is a research dietician at the Genesis Center . She presented these findings at the 2011 CTRC – AACR San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium which was held in the second week of December 2011.

She and her co-workers made comparisons between three diets for a period of four months to see their results on loss of weight and blood markers of the risk of breast cancer in one hundred and fifteen women who have had family members suffer from breast cancer. They gave each patient a diet (randomly). These diets were; a two days a week low carb calorie restricted diet , an ‘ad lib’ low carb diet where the patients could eat as much healthy fats and protein as they wanted, including lean meats, nuts and olives, also for only two days a week; and the third diet was a seven days a week typical calorie restricted Mediterranean diet.

The study indicated that the low carb diets were much better than the typical every day Mediterranean diet in losing body fat and weight, and creating insulin resistance . Mean loss in weight and body fat was about 4 kilograms (around 9 pounds ) with the intermittent diets as compared with a lower 2.4 kilogram (around 5 pound) diet with the typical dietary plan. Insulin resistance went down by about 22% with the limited low carb diet, by 14% on the ‘ad lib’ low carb diet, and 4% with the typical Mediterranean diet.

Harvie also stated that it is fascinating that the diet which limits carbohydrates but permits fats and proteins is as good as the calorie-limited low carb diet.
Harvie and her co-workers are going to continue to study the relationship between breast cancer carbohydrate consumption. Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal funded this study.
<div

About a dozen of those species are native to warm and moderate areas of Europe, Asia and Africa. Mulberry tree is about 20 meters high with a round, rich top of the tree, and deeply cracked bark.

Complex fruit is actually a multiple fruit, 2-3 centimetres (0.8-1.2 in) long and like blackberry sweet in taste, without the expressed aroma and acidity, and a wide range of colors – from white, pink, red, dark red, dark purple to black depending on the species. The color doesn’t necessarily identify the species since the white mulberry can produce white, lavender or black fruit.

It’s usually planted along roads, in parks, around vineyards or in the backyard and lives up to 250 years. Mulberries ripen over an extended period of time unlike many other fruits which seem to come all at once.

The white mulberry is native to eastern and central China and it became naturalized in Europe centuries ago. In America it was introduced for silkworm culture. Red mulberry or American mulberry is native to eastern United States and the black mulberry is native to western Asia and has been grown for its fruits in Europe since before Roman times.

If you suffer from anaemia, dizziness, insomnia, and heart-palpitations, low libido, dry eyes or weakness, mulberry is the right fruit for you. It nourishes and enriches the blood, promotes production of body fluids and is proven to strengthen sight and prevent premature aging symptoms.

Mulberry fruit contains many nutritious elements such as vitamins and minerals but it also contain one main class of non-nutrient active constituents, the anthocyanins. These non-nutrient ingredients are proven to have a distinct health impact which is why mulberry can cure chronic diseases of the digestive tract, promote gastric juice secretion, strengthen the ability for digesting and assimilating, improve the appetite, and eliminate abdominal distention and constipation. Mulberry is also suitable for chronic gastritis and chronic hepatitis.
<div

It is innate in all of us. And although most people do not regard their skin as an organ, our skin is in fact the largest vital organ in our body. Skin that is clogged and unhealthy is not just a beauty problem. It can become a hindrance to your sense of vitality and wellness. Proper care of your skin is important not only to your personal sense of beauty but also to proper elimination, more graceful aging and overall health.

There are five major types of skin. Understanding your skin type is the best approach to your personal skin care.

Normal skin—is the type of skin that we’d all love to have. This is the “healthy” type of skin. This type is the not too oily, not too dry type, characterized by few blemishes, generally firm and smooth with small pores. When you pull the skin away from the bony structure, it springs back to normal position. Lines and wrinkles are appropriate for age.

Dry Skin—due to environmental exposure to harsh elements and very often lack of water skin may flake off and feel tight in your face. It may lack natural oils, may look rather flaky with small pores, blemishes and blackheads. Without adequate moisture, dry skin can easily become chapped. As dry skin ages, it’s more likely than other types to become wrinkly.

Oily Skin—skin may look oily and coarse, may have recurring blackheads, acne and large pores. The texture of skin is thick; the touch is often sticky. This type is usually youthful- looking due to the presence of oil on the skin. Often, individuals with oily skin have a tendency to develop acne in their teen and middle years, and overgrown oil glands, or sebaceous hyperplasia, in the middle and late years.

Combination Skin—varies according to your skin type. This is the Jekyll and Hyde type of skin, often with split personality. This type may be characterized as oily on the T-zone (the area that stretches from the forehead down to the nose and chin), and dry to normal on the cheeks and around the eye area.

Sensitive Skin—people with sensitive skin are the most prone to allergies, rash, sting, and burns. This type of skin gets irritated easily and can go very red and blotchy. This type will have a lot more trouble to environmental factors and tends to be very sensitive to cosmetics.
<div

It’s yellow, green or yellow-brown colour. One soybean seed contains 36 to 40 percent protein, 15 to 23 percent of oil, close to 34 percent carbo hydrate, 3 to 6 percent mineral matter, and a significant number of vitamins.

Soybean seed is very rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals, also the products made from it are a rich source of these ingredients. Soy products can not be used as a replacement for other valuables for food items, especially not for foods of animal origin (meat, milk, eggs, fish), but are considered for foods, with equal place in the Lecithin is the natural substance with excellent features, but less known than other soy products. It’s main ingredients are choline and inositol in the form of Phosphatidylcholin. Choline plays a key role in the structure of biological membranes and can link to vitamins. Inositol can be found in food of plant origin, soybeans have it in large amounts. Large amounts of inositol are stored in human brain. Choline and Inositol are catalysts and lipotropic (fat emulsifiers).
<div

Many of us drink water only when we are thirsty, which in no way is enough. Doctors warn that drinking water should become a habit, because the thirst is a sign of a dehydration.

In our body water is solvent, cooler and transporter of mineral matters and other important elements. It’s an essential part of every tissue. It makes 70 percent of our bodies, 85 percent of the blood, 80 percent of the brain, 70 percent of the muscles and 10 percent of the teeth.

It is essential for body temperature regulation, transportation of nutrients and excretion of waste, it maintains the blood volume and provides a balance in the body – homeostasis

Hard or soft

Often you can hear the dilemma of whether the water we drink is good or not. Most often it’s about whether the water is hard or soft. Hard water contains more calcium and magnesium, which means that it’s better for our health.

According to a British study, residents in towns with soft water have a ten percent greater risk of Heart and Blood Vessel Diseases. But, It has been proved that our health is far more affected by food we eat than the type of water we drink.
The colour of the water speaks of its quality to. On the white surface water should not have a yellowish colour. The amount of lime scale in the water can be checked by simple experiment. Make a pot of black tea and leave it to cool down. If there is a greasy trace on the surface the water contains more calculus.

Human can survive just a few days without water. If you drink less than you need, the body to create prerequisites for gallbladder inflammation, kidney stones, inflammation of the urinary tract … – Every day you should drink at least one and a half – two litters of water. It is almost impossible to drink too much water because healthy kidneys need water to work properly.

Substances that are soluble in water will be absorbed in the digestive tract no matter how much water you drink. Higher air temperature, increases the loss of fluid from the body, because larger amounts of water vaporites from your cells. Dehydration leads vertigo, fatigue, headaches, weakness and loss of concentration. Lack of water, particularly in those who suffer from low or high blood pressure can worsen their condition.
<div

While Western countries spend billions on developing new medicines, in the eastern countries, natural preparations got more attention.

The former Soviet Union and Romania were especially focused on Apitherapy. In Russia Apitherapy has been used for 60 years, in Romania 50 years, in Japan, for example, it has been used since 1920. Special attention is focused on bee venom acupuncture.

Honey is mostly used for fever, cold, sleep disorders, inflamed gums and pollen allergies. The best method is to take honey between meals. However, some have problems with the stomach. For this reason, it is recommended to use the honey with tea, (for instance herbal mixed tea).

It was noticed that the honey is excellent “transport material” for all other substances. If, for example, we take a pill with some honey, it’s action will be much faster than it would be without the honey. This is why tea with some honey in it is so good for cold.

It is recommends to mix 600g of honey with 300-400g of fresh pollen. One tea spoon 15 minutes before every meal is enough since the daily consumption of pollen should not exceed 30g. In the beginning it is recommended to take the honey/pollen mix after the meal since some time is necessary for digestive tract to adjust to pollen.

Propolis straightens and stimulates your defence mechanism, and it’s very good against depression. It helps you detoxify (against environmental factors, such as radioactive rays for example, and against internal toxins such as those that appear when you have problems with liver and kidneys). It’s Anti-viral and anti-bacterial powers are very well known.

Pollen is not recommended in people with diabetes, because it raises the level of sugar in the blood, people with increased emission of gastric acid should be cautious with pollen as well.

Pollen does not only contain many of the essential vitamins and trace elements, it has all the most important amino acids and therefore is the most important vegetable source of protein in general. As a result, the pollen is ideal for all those who removed meat products from their diet.

Protein content of 100g of pollen corresponds to the amount of 500g veil meat or 7 eggs.
It is of special importance to use fresh or fresh frozen pollen, because unlike dry pollen it contains a lot of enzymes, for our organism to use instead of its own while processing food.

Also it is important to use pollen properly, because otherwise you can not take advantage of it’s important ingredients. Therefore it is advised to stir in the pollen in honey and leave it for 14 days to grow, because only then the so-called exines, very solid skin that protects pollen seed can be broken.

Exines are so strong that they are able to maintain and preserve the pollen grain for centuries. With similar mixtures you can treat chronic pollen allergies and allergic rhinitis. They should take honey / pollen mixture in winter period.
<div

The results were combined with the U.S. Ministry of Agriculture data on how much each ingredient is present in ordinary daily consumption of food in average American diet. The result showed that the coffee is the largest source of antioxidants per meals and by the level of consumption. Right after coffee are the black tea, bananas, bean and corn. “Americans get more antioxidant through coffee than other food – nothing else can even approach,” said Joe Vinson Professor Department of Chemistry University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.

Antioxidants help the body to remove harmful free radicals, abusive molecules that damage cells and DNA. Antioxidants have good influence on health, including protection against heart disease and cancer. Studies connect drinking coffee with a reduction in risk of liver cancer and colon, type two diabetes, and Parkinson’s disease.
It is important to not forget beneficial effects of fresh fruits and vegetables, he warned. “Unfortunately, consumers still do not eat enough fruits and vegetables, which due to the high content of vitamins, minerals and fibbers are much better than the any other food,” said Vinson. Scientists showed that in comparison with other food, dates provide the largest source of antioxidant. Also cranberry and red grapes are very rich in antioxidants.
<div

Like millions of Americans, Martha has depression, but loathe to talk about her illness. She asked for her identity to remain secret. “Definitely I think that those who suffer from it judge themselves,” said Marta … explaining that because depression she wasn’t able to function. When medicines and therapies have not made any result, she decided to try a kind of deep brain stimulation. Sarah Lisanby, M.Di, of the New York State Psychiatric Institute, used a process known as repetitivetranscranial magnetic stimulation (TMS)

“We are in a very interesting stage of psychiatry. Looking at the possibilities of that brain stimulation as a way of treatment, I think we only just scratched the surface” says Sarah Lisanby.

Depression Treatment TMS uses pulsating magnet, which indicates very little electric current in the part of the brain affected by depression. The magnet “re-establishes” normal brain activity and the symptoms seam to diminish. With the help of TSM therapy Marta experienced drastic improvement after only few weeks, and as she said she is finally happy and laughing. First TSM-results are positive, but it hasn’t been approved by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). If proved secure and efficient, magnetic stimulation could be used for depression and epilepsy.
<div

Companies that offer the tests, say that the proposed diet plans they give you after the test, can reduce the risk of the disease.

Andrew Baterman who is focused on living longer and healthier life is now thinking about taking one of these DNA tests. He says he read the add for the test that offers a diet based on the state of your cardiovascular system, metabolism and bone health.

You send your DNA sample to the laboratory in Seattle where a computer analysis the variations and changes in 19 specific genes. Gelex company representative says that based on the analysis they can propose the changes you should make in your life.

For example, VDR gene variations indicate congenitally calcium and vitamin D deficiency which could be repaired with diet. Apparently the genetic code helps the scientists to design a Healthy diet for each person. The test costs about 400 dollars, but nutritionists claim that you’ll be throwing your money away.

Doctor Steven H. Zeisel says that this kind of genetic research is not fully developed to be applied in practice. He and other critics say that these tests often do not give any results, because testing of just 19 out of 20,000 genes that influence the probability of various disease development is an illusionary science.

Professor James C. Fleet, Ph.D. of the Purdue University says that it’s naive to believe that only few genes influence the development of diseases. Nobody specifies what amount of vitamins one should take, or in which way certain vitamin supplements improve health.

The very idea of a healthy diet plan based on your genetic code is not bad. Nutritionist say – it is promising but it needs to be tested thoroughly and that in their words will take at least 5 to 10 years.
<div

Humanitarian organization “Alcohol concern” pointed out that these foundlings are alarming, considering that drinking is an increasing problems in female population in Britain. CT brain scans have been performed on 158 volunteers, including 76 men and women who suffer from alcoholism and 82 healthy people. Project leader Professor Karl F. Man MD from the Department of Addictive Behavior & Addiction Medicine of the Heidelberg University, pointed out that his team managed to establish that the alcohol addiction is developing much faster in woman than in men, which means faster progression of events that lead to addiction and early manifestation of harmful consequences.

Research results have shown that the brain damage occurs faster in women than in men. “We found greater brain atrophy in alcoholics than in healthy people,” said Professor Man. “Also, it is determined that brain mass reduction is the same in men and woman, but with women it takes significantly less time for it to happen.”

These results confirmed previous findings about the harmful effect of alcohol, such as mental disorders, heart damage, liver disease and diseases of Muscular and Skeletal Systems. It is known that all of these harmful consequences appear earlier in women than in men, even when they are in much lesser degree of exposure to alcohol, pointed out Professor Man.
<div
